Guidelines for Written Work and Assignments

  • In order to receive credit for an assignment, be sure that you read and follow directions. If you do not understand the directions, ask for a clarification. You will not receive full credit if you do not follow directions.
  • All work must be completed in blue or black ink. There will be no exceptions. Work done in something other than blue or black ink will not be accepted.
  • For textbook and workbook exercises, follow the models exactly.
  • If there is not a model provided, write out the question and answer fully, underlining your answer.
  • All work must include a proper heading in the upper, right-hand corner of your paper on four separate ‘lines.’ The heading must include your name, class subject and period, the teacher’s name, and the date the assignment is DUE.
  • All work must have a TITLE (the name of the assignmen, page number, etc.). This will be written on the second blue line of your paper.
  • Use standard-size, white paper for all assignments unless otherwise directed. If you use the kind of paper torn from a spiral notebook, use scissors to trim it before turning it in.
  • Writing that is sloppy or illegible is not acceptable. Such work will be returned to you to recopy and will be due the very next day. If you are asked to recopy an assignment, be sure to turn both copies back in with the best copy on top. Otherwise, you will not receive credit for the assignment.
  • Staple multiple pages.
  • Turn in work that is neatly corrected. Use White Out® from my desk if necessary. Minor corrections can be made by marking out the error with one line drawn through the error.
  • No late work will be accepted.
